  1. What is an SMS message?

    An SMS message is a text-based message sent or received on your mobile handset.


  2. What is a shortcode? 

    A shortcode is a five or six-digit number used to address SMS messages. Our shortcode is 252252 (ALCALC).


  3. What mobile services does Atlantic Lottery offer?

    Consumers can currently sign up to receive one or more of the following mobile alerts for the Lotto 6/49 and LOTTO MAX draw games:

      • Winning numbers for Lotto 6/49, Atlantic 49 and/or LOTTO MAX sent direct to you shortly after the draw.
      • Jackpot alerts for Lotto 6/49 and/or LOTTO MAX when the jackpot is over $10M.
      • Purchase reminders, at your request, for Lotto 6/49 and/or LOTTO MAX that will be sent to you the day of the draw at a time chosen by you.
       

  4.  How do I sign up for Atlantic Lottery mobile alerts (SMS)? 

    You need a guest account or a wagering member account to sign up for alerts. Just sign up and choose what alerts you’d like to receive from the Mobile Alerts section of the registration page. 

    Already have an account? Log in and Click on the Member Services tab found in the My Account section to choose which alerts you want.


  5. How much does it cost?

    Standard text messaging rates apply.


  6. How many messages will I receive? 

    Depending on the alert services you choose, Atlantic Lottery will send you between 1 and 6 messages per week.


  7. What do you do with my mobile number?

    Your mobile number is kept confidential. It will not be used by anyone without your permission.


  8. I no longer wish to receive alerts from this service. How do I unsubscribe?

    To unsubscribe just reply and text STOP to the last message you received, or you can remove services from the Member Services page found in the My Account section. 


  9. What is Washer Toss?  

    Washer Toss is Atlantic Lottery’s first app; we recognize the popularity of mobile applications and of the Washer Toss game in Atlantic Canada so we decided to build on that.

    The game is available on the App StoreSM (where millions of games and applications can be found) where Atlantic Canadian iPhone® and iPod Touch® users can download for free and there is no betting or wagering involved.


  10. How do I download Washer Toss? 

    Downloading Washer Toss is easy, all you need to do is key in “Atlantic Lottery Washer Toss” from the search feature within the App Store. 


  11. Do I need to have an alc.ca account in order to download Washer Toss?

    No you do not need to have an alc.ca account.  Users will directly access the App Store to download the game.  In order to do so, a user needs to have an account with the App store. 

    In addition, Atlantic Lottery has added an advert page of +19 years which clearly communicates to the user that Atlantic Lottery is a regulated agency.


  12. Is the Atlantic Lottery Washer Toss game gambling?

    This is not gambling. The Washer Toss game is a free game and there is no betting or wagering involved.
