Corporate Social Responsibility

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is at the heart of everything we do at Atlantic Lottery. This operational commitment forms the foundation of all corporate activities and guides how we manage our responsibilities to the four Atlantic Provinces, players and communities. CSR at Atlantic Lottery includes commitments to the environment, communities, volunteerism and responsible gambling, which was validated by the World Lottery Association (WLA) in July 2010 with the highest level of excellence (Level 4) under the RGF. Each CSR program area at Atlantic Lottery is designed and implemented with Atlantic Canadians in mind.

Reducing our environmental footprint is important at Atlantic Lottery and is supported with programs that help employees understand how they can reduce Atlantic Lottery’s impact on the environment.

Fundamental to Atlantic Lottery’s responsible gambling (RG) strategy is delivering education and awareness programs around informed player choice. Examples of our commitment to RG include: the sponsorship of youth gambling education programs within high school and post-secondary education environments; awareness campaigns around the risks associated with gambling; employee and retailer training. All of these RG programs result in creating more informed players and a workforce where CSR and RG specifically are core values and competencies.

Our CSR framework includes a targeted focus on the following key areas:

• Employees
• Retailers
• Players and Products
• Communities
• Supply Chain
• Environment

Celebrating Atlantic Canada

Whether we’re sponsoring the festivals and events that define our communities, supporting the corporate events that grow our region– at Atlantic Lottery, it’s all done with the vision of making Atlantic Canada a better place.

Where does the money go? We get asked that a lot! All profit goes back to our communities. Every penny. No exceptions. It’s used for things like social programs, roads, and education.
